What a fantastic game to finish the season off with!!!
O.K. so w did have the odd ringer…Jimbo played for Canterbury and ran in three of our four tries ……
Good conditions and a perfect day for fast rugby and a tester for fitness, stamina, and just survival…this was the day for throwing the ball around of seeing our forwards in fine and shrugging off the opposition….
The photo report sums up the game and the good après presentations with one of their players retiring and going off to hit Spain….
Good to see the spectators on the touchline ….Matt looked very becoming in his pink and black striped shirt on the touchline and this could be a “goer” …
Getting back to the game…this was the tightest one this season the game moved form 5 points to us then 5 points to the opposition then another 5 points and another 5 points but luck would have it after 4 tries had been scored by both side we came up trumps as we converted two to give us a very well played victory of 24 points to 20.
Everyone played out their skins and brad made a fantastic break for run more or less the length of the pitch with the whole back row in support. Jimbo was magic at centre and mesmerised the oppo with very classic play, is he available next season? Budget is a bit tight!
And after the presentations a number of us went up to Rupert’s 11‘s party in Chelsea and had some great cocktails …many thanks Rupert…great time
Most of my thoughts are with getting the tour tidy for Friday so I must rely on the photo report to show the game , the spirit and the atmosphere that was so obvious to both clubs… great game and played by two very friendly clubs and looked forward to every year!!
