Hi chaps
Another cracking game on Sat!
Weather good, ground firm and temperature just right!
Camera light favourable on no 2 camera!
Thanks to those guys who kindly played out of position to cover a few key
players who were not available....you did well!
However, the opposition had a very strong experienced half back pair and
they received good fast ball that enabled the outsides to move at a fair
pace and but for the immense tackling of players we would have lost by a
number of tries.
The opposition outsides were fast and on a number of occasions managed to
slip past the tackles but all credit to our defence that we only lost by
26 points to 12!
Tenacious constant tackling by Jack made him Man of the Match but it was
a close run thing with both Chris and Stuart knocking very hard for the
award.
Stuart at no 10 had a good game and getting some good defence work in and
well placed kicks kept us in contention.
The line out was better but this time we were faced with an opposition that
managed to lift very high indeed. Steve can normally out jump most forward
but his opposite number was light and went up too high....should have been
banned!
You will see in the photo report the start of Jamie's try and also see Tom
and Peter backing up....you will see Matt getting ready for something! Basil
about to make a tackle , Bull Patterson charge.
The photos really tell the path of the game......the effort of the forwards...the
front row with Tom's smile as he is about to bind on....of Steve onthe deck
after a good tackle, to see Jamie off on his usual swerving try with good
support, of Stuart and Ross backing each other up, Clarkie's determination
with a good classic hand off and still going strong, of Basil going for
his man,
From this great effort we clawed back two tries ..one cracker with Jamie
and another great try made by Stuart powering his way through to within
10 yards of the line and putting in a superb pass to newcomer John ontrhe
wing to go over for a good try....Chris converted.
Good effort..and the touchline support was superb with Len, Alex, Rob, Gary,
Polly, Mickie, Jenny, James, Max and a number of locals....good entertaining
rugby and the photos back at the White Swan just sum up the après
Bulldog hospitality....a few candid shots by Tony IronMan Bianchi caught
a few of us out...it look as if someone is scratching his balls in one shot
and the next one goes on to Katherine!!
Good shots of Jack drinking drinking one.....not a lot of us can do that
nowadays, Len
