Bulldogs ?-? Hampstead

Well the last time we played Hampstead we thrashed them this time they told me they were sending over a lower side!!! Some hope there …..It was obviously a very well drilled side with an average age well below The Bulldogs even with Basil and his international group playing!!

We did well but like the last few games we do need to look at our tackling…the ref called us up a few time on high tackles an the opposition did shrug off a number of tackles. Having said that we put in affair number of cracking tackles but not enjoy am afraid.

Tries almost came with good runs on the wing by Mike Steel Man and if only Martin had managed to hold the ball we could have been in for a good try but his new hand cream he put on before the game was not impressive with ball holding…..at least not the match bal!

It was a game that was always on the move with a fast outside line from Hampstead that once started to move was not easy to stop

Our problem was we did not get enough ball….we had the speed but the oppo forwards seem to keep control of the ball and in spite of efforts by Simon, Peter, Ollie, and Jonathan we juts could not get good ball or any ball back to the forwards.

Mac at scurm half had a good little game until he landed awkwardly on his shoulder and had to leave the pitch.

Alex B stood in and played a sound game …

Yes our only try was well worked and Steve M went over for a good try that roger converted

The photo play against juts illustrates much more than the newsletter of the commitment that you all put in ….the tackles that are going in , the constant chasing of the ball and the fine action in the loose ….also we can see the lineout commitment and this again is the usual problem of getting good ball back to the scrum half.

How about the shots back in the pub?

I thought Iron Man was a friend

GOOD NEWS ON THE SHIRTS ..WE HAV EHAD THE OK TO GO AHEAD

Cheers
