Hi Chaps
What a cracking end of the season we had both in the game and then back at The White Swan for our end of season party! The photos of both events are well photographed and chronicled by Tony and upto his usual candid stuff and also some superb action shots of the game. The one of Hugh in full flight side stepping is perhaps one of the best of the season and a fantastic action shot.
Tony is working on adding captions for next year and this should really be quite interesting with a “pint for the best caption” of the month award!
When you go through the photos you will once again see the commitment that went into the game….Ben, Simon, Peter all committed and Matt making his usual high output of tackles….Ben getting the line moving and Roger clearing the ball and good old Dave Jones doing a few stretches at full back.. All in all a very impressive run of photo journalism that has been the highlight of our season. Everyone looks forward to the photos each week and if I am late with the match report I get emails asking where the photos are!!!
Getting back to the game ….It was a hard one but an even game played in very sunny hot conditions but luckily we had a few subs and this made all the difference .Until the last 10 mins there was only 2 points in the game and Lockside pushed us very hard indeed. However in the last 10 mins both Hugh at scrumhalf and Ben at No 10 broke out and scored to very fine tries to give us a win of 37 points to 17 over a very good Lockside team.
The Man of the Match award went to Hugh for a very fine game indeed although quite frankly everyone played very well indeed and it was a hard choice to make. Another award went to Tony Iron Man Bianchi for Bulldog photographer of the year and this award was in the shape of an Oscar to fit in with the creative touch shown by Tony over the season.
After a few beers at the Grasshoppers ground we then went back to The White Swan for our end of season BBQ and we had over 32 Bulldogs members there with girl friends, wives and around 12 from Lockside and I think Roy catered for 50 on the evening.
Highly successful evening and once again Tony has illustrated the evening with some good shots and some excellent Club shots of the team and friends outside the pub.
Again my thanks to everyone involved for making this end of season game and party so successful
Cheers
