Bulldogs 5 - 20 Reading

HI chaps

Great game on Sat...it was one off the bureau and Tony and I checked them out and found they played High Wycombe and Grasshoppers so we accepted the fixture.

Reading Rhinos are a well drilled side with many ex first team players and are a vet's side.

However, our forwards matched them very well indeed and we had good ball from the set piece with Richard striking well and supported by Stuart and Bull Patterson, with the steam engine of Lenny and Steve behind them and a good active mobile back row of Dom, Dave and Peter.

Mac was getting the ball away well to Roger at No 10 and the lineout was also a big success this week with Richard finding Steve and also at the back of the line. Steve had a good game and the action photos taken by Iron Man show Steve out jumping his opposite number...also he is very prominent in the back up photos and in support of the ball player.

With good ball from scrum and line out our outsides with Matt crashing through and putting Jamie away...time and time again came near to scoring but the Rhino defence was very good....Mathew on wing had a scorching game and almost scored

Len and the forwards had many charges at the opposition and again were stopped just short of the line.

The Rhinos with all their experience could not get the better of our forward apart from the rolling maul which is unstoppable and they scored their tries.

But we came back with a cracking breakaway try by Dave breaking from the loose and running for the line with Len in hot pursuit to take the try scoring pass to bang down under the post. A well deserved try.

Have a look at the match photos, Iron Man has again captured unique shots...look at the sequence of the three of Peter....the last one looks as if he is twisting the players head off...that's how they play it in S.A he said!

See the Bulldog spirit in the close up shots faces of matt and Len and the determination Ross and Dave in the tackles and runs.

And then some cracking photos back in our clubhouse , The White Swan,,,, Jamie's family shot of Tiffany and Darcy, Len with Louis and the Man of the match award to Mathew...a good shot of the award as well

How about " I want to be alone Martin" ...

Good chummy shots and good to see Canadian Gary at the bar

How about the outside night shot of The White Swan?

I see Tony snapped Ross's jolly girlfriend ...

Great shots all-round chaps and again puts us very much at the forefront of rugby reporting and The Bulldog approach to rugby.....Tony captures this in the action shots on the pitch and also the non action ones! Candid shots in our clubhouse afterwards and good family photos of players and family and friends

How about the sho
t of the award and a couple of pints!

p.s. result: we lost by one try to two and then in the last few minutes two runaway tries to oppo.!

Cheers

Colin/Tony
