Hi Chaps

Sat morning games are always difficult both in getting a team out and also finding decent opposition. The Teddington game illustrated that point as they fielded a combined 1st, 2nd and 3rd team against us which resulted in a 30 to 7 defeat!!!

We managed to get a full side out thanks to 6 guests players but it was a huge problem and with players away, working or going to the match.

However, we put up a stirring effort against a good well trained side but for the first 10 mins it looked as if we might have had a runaway victory as Hugh scythed through for a try that Roger converted to put us 7 up. From that point on our forwards pushed ahead well and we were constantly in thier half but we could not convert pressure into tries. The ball came back from the scrum well and went down the line well but we just could not finish off due to the good defence by Teddington.

Our tackling was both good and at times not good enough and tackles were missed..same as the previous week we do have to make certain of every tackle. Our line out play was OK up top a point but we do need to put pressure on the oppo scrum half by trying to go through the lineout. In the loose mauls we need to show more commitment and get stuck in !

All in all a good effort with some excellent play against a good side and the score was not really reflective of the game and effort. However, the score line could have been reduced with more positive tacking. But did play a very useful side!

Afterwards we had a good session with Teddington watching the game back at The White Swan until early evening !!! Tony has taken a good range of photos and they are all unedited and attached and illustrate our effort and commitmet to the game!

We will be changing the club photos for the 2nd Dec.

This Sat we have a game schedule with Grasshoppers and no doubt it will be another mixed side! As a few are going to the game we have been asked to move the time forward to 12 o’clock .

BEFORE WE CAN CONFIRM THIS FIXTURE WE NEED 15 PLAYERS MINM. TO CONFIRM OK BY WED 6 O’CLOCK…let’s not mess about …if you are up for a game then let me know and I can then confirm fixture but with 6 guests ;last week I am very apprehensive of getting a team out and it really depends on whio is around for a Sat morning game starting at 12 noon so you would have to be at the groud no later than 11;30…over to you

Christmas lunch let’s not mess about on this one either….the venue has to be booked and w can’t do that until we have numbers we have 5 confirmed at the moment!! Get cracking please let me know ..cost about £15 per head lunch time Richmond The Britannia
