Thamesians 20-10 Bulldogs

Hi Chaps

For the second Saturday we have come up against some pretty tough opposition and way above the level we normally play at and we have sustained injuries to key players…the first Sat we lost Trevor with a broken leg and he is in plaster, last Sat we lost Jamie with a torn hamstring and he is out for six weeks.

Sat morning games are always difficult because the opposition tend to be a mixture of sides…..last Sat against Rhodesians it was not easy to find a regular 2nd team players that we would normally play against..Their first team had no fixture and the number of subs that kept appearing with fresh legs was more than a challenge!

The final score was around the 2 tries to 4 and with a penalty try we should have had.

But one of the great attributes of The Bulldogs and of every player is our steadfastness and fantastic team spirit that drives us on to the last whistle…..Bulldog heads never go down and there is always that keenest to take the game to the opposition no matter what the score is or the odds.

For the second week running we have seen that determination and sprit shown by all players of the camaraderie a both on and off the field that is the envy of many teams….

On the touchline Trevor could be seen on crutches with his young son supporting the team, Iron man Tony was there again help we with crutches following his hip op, the wives, girl friends were all their on the touchline cheering us on…this is what makes a great team an has kept us going for almost 30 years of Bulldog.

The Bulldog shirt is worn with great pride ….this Sat wear one of your Bulldog shirts when you watch the game at the White Swan…be proud of who you are, how we play and what we are

Please let me know if you will be with us on Sa at The White Swan …make that big effort…it would be nice to have a rough idea of who will be with us ….

Tourist list being sent out later today

Cheers

Colin/Tony
