Hi chaps
First of all the good news is the photos by our candid camera man Iron Man Tony…very good selection again with a representative range both on and off the pitch
They show the action and commitment side of The Bulldogs…yes we did put in some good tackle as you can see and we did put I some great drives by Simon especially…his speciality taking the ball to the opposition with forceful drives. Good line shots of a few of the V’P’s
And yes we did get a fair amount of ball from the line out and set pieces so at the end of it all it was not a bad performance BUT we all know that if only we had made all the tackles then we could well have won this game! Roger’s tremendous run from the goal line to bang down a score at the other end that was disallowed summoned up the way our luck went on Saturday
The important message is that we played a fair fixture and one we could have won instead of going down by three unconverted tries and everyone enjoyed the game which after all is what is it all about. Uxbridge were a friendly lot and socialised well after the game and a return match would be good. Man of the match was Ian Cuncliffe who played well and made some good runs and defensive play.
We seem to be having more injuries off the field than on nowadays although poor Bull Patterson got a knee in the back that put him out of action for the rest of the game but it is not serious so we should see BULL BACK VERY SOON.
However, Sappa Pete did finish up at the A & E ward of West Mid Hospital….bit of horseplay with Iron Man in the back room of The White Swan after a few points had taken their toll and Tony was demonstrating a particular judo hold or fall as it turned out ot be !! watch this man he was a black belt some years ago!

I am gutted that we had to cry off the Christmas Lunch but with less than 10 and with the pub charging £25 per head ( it was £15 last year) and also a booking fee of £50 we were up against it.
But not too worry we will try and do something as Malcolm has suggested in the New Year
