Hi
chaps
Fantastic win against High Wycombe on Sat with 20 points to 5....three tries,
one conversion and one penalty!
The photos that Tony ( Iron Man) has taken of the game are some of the best
we have seen....the weather was good and the action shots have come out
fantastically wellwith the return of his No 1 camera !!...just look at the
four shots of Lenny battling his way over for a try!
The game was a great example of what we can do when we have players playing
in position. Paul at scrum half, Mark friend, played a blinder with diving
passes , driving the forwards and giving Roget at No 10 the chance to move
the line with Chris and Stuart working well and centres and Martin and Mathew
on the wings for the first half. Mathew was very unlucky being brough down
just a few yards out by a professional foul!
The forwards had a good game with Mark throwing the ball in and hitting
Steve and Simon and Jack throwing in to the back of the line. Tremendous
forward drives by Len, Simon, Bull, and the back up of Dave, Jack and Peter
all putting in tackles.
The set piece worked well with a few against the head and a good strike
by Mark to get the ball back quickly to Paul at scrum half!
the tries came from very good play worked by the forward and the first try
was a beauty by Len the Leap who as you will see from the photos forced
his way through with a powerful drive, Simon followed a little late with
a similar try but hiseecond try was magic
He turned the large No 8 around and then ripped the ball of home and then
ran almost the length of the pitch to score as you will see fromthe photos
cracking corner try.
Martin inthre first half almost went over and Mike (Steel Man) Bianchi back
frominjury came on at half time to test out his fitness and made numerous
runs down the wing and on one occasion away and infor a try but the ref
blew ands thought hewas in touch!!
A good game with great spirits and the photos illustrate much more effectively
than this newsletter the fun and style of the game
Man of the Match was a well deserved Simon.
