Hi chaps
It is great to have Iron Man on the touchline again with his photo shoot of the match and this really is now part of Bulldog legend…you are captured for posterity ( alright the photo board of the White Swan ) but also for your own record and for the girl friends and wives just to prove what you do on a Sat pm!!
There are some great photos this week of all sorts of playing angles…look out forSappa Pete with his try…caught in mid flight …of the forwards pushing aged with Matt leading the fray….of brad banging down a try and Ian carving through for the same…Steve being lifted high in the lineout to obtain good clean ball and then we have the touchline photos of supporters and the après shot in the pub.
All in all a great run of photos that can tell the game so much better then I can!!
Let’s get onto the game
We played High Wycombe 4ths but they had been given the wrong dierctionsby their club…they arrived at Twickenham rugby club and started to change but could not find any oppo so checked at the bar to be informed we had left about 5 year ago!
They then called me and we re-directed then to our ground.
We finally kicked off at about 3;45 pm and as they were short we lent them a player…he had never played before but looked the part!
This was the great course rugby approach by HighWycombe…a good bunch of lads who persevered to get to us and did themselves proud both on and off the pitch…this was a true insight into rugby as it should be played and approached.
My match report is in my car and I left that at Twickenham last night following the celebration of England winning!!
However we did win by 41 to 17 which were no way reflective of the game…High Wycombe put up a great spirited display and a team we may have a return match with….
Man of the match was Steve Crosson who apart from scoring a cracking try also jumped well in the lineout and covered the pitch….
